Bran Castle is the Academy of Forensic Medicine and Science in Romania, attended by a number of students including characters Audrey Rose Wadsworth and Thomas Cresswell. It was rumored to be the castle of Vlad the Impaler, also known as Prince Dracula.

Bran Castle used to be the home of Vlad the Impaler, or so was rumored.

December 1888

During the December of 1888, Thomas Cresswell and Audrey Rose Wadsworth reside there for a few weeks in order to determine their placement at the Academy of Forensic Medicine and Science. During their arrival at the castle, they are coolly greeted by the headmaster of the castle, Moldoveanu, who takes an instant dislike to both characters.

Throughout the course of Hunting Prince Dracula, the castle experiences much difficulty, due to the fact that someone has been brutally murdering (impaling) students and teachers alike in the form of a vampire. The castle is a very competitive setting for all of the characters in the book, due to the fact that they are competing against one another in order to gain placement at the Academy of Forensic Medicine and Science. It was revealed that solely two students of the nine attending would gain placement.

Students Noah Hale and Erik Petrov gained placement at the academy, while the others failed to.
